SAGES and the Writing Program are pleased to announce that we are seeking nominations for two awards for excellent writing instruction. These awards honor faculty who have demonstrated outstanding commitment to and success in teaching academic writing to CWRU students.

All nominations/statements are due by Monday, March 26, 2018. Winners will be honored at the Writing Program Awards on Wednesday, May 2, in the Guilford Parlor at 4:30 pm.

The Writing Program Awards Ceremony honors award-winning teachers and students at the end of each year. The celebration is a recognition of writing faculty at CWRU which includes full- and part-time lecturers, SAGES Fellows, English graduate student assistants, disciplinary faculty, and other friends of writing at CWRU. …Read more.

The Celebration of Student Writing and Research is a university-wide showcase of student writing projects, held in conjunction with Research ShowCase and Intersections symposium and poster session. The Celebration encourages students to re-present and display their research and writing in formats other than word-processed letters and lines on the printed page. The Celebration will take place on Friday, April 21, from 12:00-3:00 pm in the Veale Convocation and Recreation Center. Individual students, courses, and CWRU student organizations are welcome to register using this form. Registration Deadline: Wednesday, March 22, 2017

The SAGES University Seminar Essay Awards recognize the best essays produced by students in their second and third SAGES seminars. Seminar leaders nominate outstanding essays, which are reviewed by a committee of writing faculty. …Read more.

Dr. Suhaan Mehta, Lecturer in English, has received the 2016 Richard A. Bloom, M.D. Award for Distinguished Teaching in the SAGES Program. The award was established in 2008 to honor distinguished teaching in the SAGES program at Case Western Reserve University. …Read more.
