Diversity + Seminar-Style, Writing-Intensive Instruction

 

This session is required of all writing faculty – it will be a chance to collaborate on important pedagogical questions such as: How do you establish a “brave” space in the seminar classroom (a brave space is one where difficult topics are discussed in an atmosphere of tolerance and respect)? How do you introduce diversity into a discussion with a homogeneous audience? How do you avoid relying on individuals to represent experiences of groups?
